San Bernardino Valley Municipal Water District

formerly the California Water Fix
Local water supplies and water conservation are not enough to meet demands in the San Bernardino Valley service area. We also rely on water from Northern California that is captured before it flows into the Pacific Ocean and then transported around San Francisco through the State Water Project. Residents in San Bernardino Valley made a huge investment in this crucial infrastructure when the District was formed in 1954.
Delta Conveyance will complete the State Water Project by moving the intake north of the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta. Moving the intake north protects reliability, eliminates current environmental impacts and improves water quality. San Bernardino Valley supports the Governor's recommendation to complete single-tunnel project to move water through the Delta in a more secure and stable system, reducing risks related to Delta levee failure and other potential challenges in the Delta.
As a State Water Contractor, San Bernardino Valley is working closely with the 28 other state contractors to ensure the water supply needs of the state are met today and into the future. Water supply reliability and ecosystem health are intricately linked, as explained in this video coordinated by the State Water Contractors. https://youtu.be/qQt12RP8eqM
